ANNOUNCEMENTS
GROUPS ARE NOW CHALLENGES
We've updated some language across our admin center and end user app. Where you previously saw the word "group," you will now see the word "challenge." This does not change any functionality, but makes the app more intuitive for both admins and users.
CHAT PREFERENCES
Chat is a great tool for building community and engagement. Chat allows users to send messages to challenge participants, teammates, and friends. While we encourage admins to enable this feature, you now have full control to turn chat on or off at any time. To change your chat settings, navigate to the Admin Center > Account Settings > App Settings.
FEATURE HIGHLIGHT
FRIENDS
Admin account owners will now have the option to turn on the Friends feature for their users. If turned on for your organization, users can add friends within your organization for ongoing, daily competition. Once friends with someone, users can keep up with their friends' daily stats even when they're not in a challenge. Users can also send friends direct messages in chat and view more of their profile. To turn on the Friends feature, navigate to the Admin Center > Account Settings > App Settings.
CHALLENGE IDEA
MUSIC TO MY EARS!
Encourage participants to turn their jam sessions into an opportunity for being active. Emotion, attention, memory and physical activity can all be positively impacted by music. The average person listens to about 4.5 hours of music a day, which adds up to nearly 32 hours a week. Use our Target mode to allow users to build towards this ambitious activity goal of 32 hours of activity (or 1,920 active minutes) over a longer period of time.
- Modules: Target
- Duration: 60 days
- Goal: 32 hours, or 1,920 active minutes

PROGRAMMING TIPS
GET CREATIVE WITH REPORTING
Reporting can be used for more than just pulling end-of-challenge stats. MoveSpring has a variety of reports that admins can use to check into things like engagement and long-term progress.
- Before a challenge starts: Utilize the User Report to gauge what percentage of your users have synced in the last few days. Send out a reminder to sync as frequently as possible during the challenge! If a user's device column is blank, you'll want to send them an email reminding them to connect their device before the challenge starts.
- During a Challenge: Pull a report mid-challenge to announce insights your users might not see in the app. For example, when using a Streak challenge, you can announce details not displayed in the app like total steps or distance traveled by the whole group.
- Even when you're not running a challenge: Reward and celebrate users who show consistent or improved activity even when you're not running a challenge. Use the Most Improved or Personal Best Reports to call out those who are going above and beyond!
